Sketch Book: From time to time, I pull out my sketch book and attempt to do some more realistic drawings. I'm obviously not trained at drawing in this style, but I find it fun to just hack away until I get something I like. This page contains a few of the drawings from my sketch book. I'll probably add a few more when I have the time...

I've always had a fascination with Marilyn Monroe. I've sketched her many times, but this is easily my favorite one. I think it's the eyes...

I really like this pose of Marilyn. I remember having a tough time capturing her profile. I really should have spent more time smoothing out the shadows on this one.

This was one of the first sketches I ever did of Marilyn. Not necessarily all that great, but it's the one that got me started. She was leaning her head back in the photo, and that added an unusual perspective, which made for a tough drawing.

Geronimo was the leader of the Bedonkohe tribe of the Apache Indians. A number of years ago I read a book about him, and was really moved by his life story. This is a sketch I did a few days after I read the book.

I sketched this around the same time that I sketched the picture of Geronimo above. I seem to recall that it was a picture of Sitting Bull, but I could be mistaken. If you happen to recognize this picture, and can tell me who it is, please send me an email and let me know.

This is a sketch of Yasmeen Ghauri. As far as I'm concerned, she is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. This sketch turned out pretty well and is one of my favorites.

This is another sketch of Yasmeen. I hurried her face, and basically lost her "look" in the process. Because of that, it actually looks nothing like Yasmeen, but it's still a half-way decent sketch.
